Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox went to the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She took a course in harpsichord as well as the flautist piano for three years. Lennox lived on an allowance for students and went in part-time jobs to increase her budget. Lennox did not feel content with her skills compared to the other students at Royal Academy and began looking at other options. Lennox became part of the group Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. She quit the group shortly before their appearance on I.T.V's Talent show New Faces. The main part of her role was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. It was released in 1993. In both commercial terms and critically, it was an enormous achievement. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album came out in October of 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favorite blues and soul tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera is a collection of four piano improvisations, was released by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. This is the companion album to her Now I let it go... artwork which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her first independent album. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, went on to achieve international fame in 1980s as the Eurythmics. Lennox launched her solo career by releasing her first album Diva in the year 1992. It was the basis of several hit songs, including"Why" and "Walking in Broken Glass. Medusa an album from her studio, released in 1995, has songs that are re-imagined from her biggest hits, such as The No MoreI Always Love Yous (and A Whiter Shade of Pale). Six studio albums by her solo as well as a compilation album are the result of her efforts. |
